[14 May 2023|08:26pm] sagrada evening, everyone! i've been pining for this comm from a distance for a while and finally mustered up some courage to bring someone in. this is ashton, aka the demon asmodeus from a variety of lore but especially ars goetia. he's a prince of hell, very much living the vagabond lifestyle now among mortals for centuries. lust, mischief, and a flair games of chance are a few of the demonic traits he's best known for, the first of which stemming from an unrequited love and heartbreak a millenia ago. in short, demon boy got his heart broken and has since wandered the world spreading the joys and mischief of polyamory. he's been known to mentor paramours into how to win the affections of the objects of their desire, but usually it ends in a hedonistic mess. he coyly likes to insinuate that the french play cyrano de bergerac, about a silver tongued but odd looking poet helping someone woo the woman of both their dreams is loosely based on him, but who really knows? today he operates as a writer and photographer, mostly funded by a string of casinos he "inherited" some time ago. i'd love friends who openly judge his behavior and lifestyle, friends who embrace it, and anyone who needs a devil on their shoulder so to speak. also, would love something with all the demons about. 44 POST

[01 May 2023|07:11am] appleblood hey so let's pretend that i'm not completely time blind and forgot that yesterday was the last day of the month, yeah? anyway, while i work on this update, this is anna griffiths, the owner and operator of moonlight studios in greenwich village. she's also known as morgan le fay, the high priestess of avalon, the lady of the lake, half-sister of king arthur... you get the idea. her long life has been a gift to her from the goddess, to stand as the guardian of magical tradition in the british isles. she makes frequent trips back to glastonbury in england, but over the course of her long life, she's traveled the world and settled in new york city about a decade ago. she keeps an apartment above her store for when she needs to stay in the city, but her house is up in the hudson valley so that she can have a secluded home with plenty of green space surrounding it. she's been around for over fifteen hundred years so there's plenty of room for connections. she's also willing and able to perform magic for people, such as keeping sacred artifacts safe, separating the heart from the body, and smaller things like glamor magic, potions, healing, etc. i really love this place and i'm excited to get back into it so throw whatever you like at me! 23 POST

[09 Apr 2023|08:10pm] nashakh Hello, everyone! I'm bringing Elijah here, a vampire of many names who dates back to Old Testament times. I will note that he is Jewish and generally rolls his eyes every time someone holds a crucifix up to him. He is weakened by all types of blessed objects, including holy water, but it's got to be a lot of it to do serious damage. That said, he can be out in most sunlight and even stand in direct sunlight for a limited amount of time, but eventually, it will start to burn him. Fire is another way to kill him, decapitation and blood of the dead, too, and of course, an oak wood stake to the heart. He can see his reflection now that mirrors don't use silver backings, and otherwise, silver just negates his abilities as a vampire but can't kill him, even if it smarts a bit. He keeps his abilities close to the vest, and he has had many phases in his life and has been known by many names. At one point, he was the Scourge of the Mediterranean until Athena stopped it. And he has a lot of trauma hung up in being a vampire thanks to his sire, who is no longer around because, well, Elijah took care of that in the 13th century with his secret progeny. Speaking of progeny, though, he has three left, and they want him dead. They live and work as a trio (in my mind), so if you want to play one, they'll be from Northern Africa, Western Asia/the Middle East, or the Mediterranean. [09 Mar 2023|07:17am] lithe I hadn’t done this yet since I wanted to focus on the bio and get her in before adds, but [cue Mario Kart tunes] here we go! This is Yuliana Ivanova who started out life as a snow maiden only to realize she was a zimadevushka, which is a Russian take on the Japanese Yuki-onna: A snow creature who, after tricking someone into the deep snow by charming them, lets them die of the cold and, in this case, cannibalizes their corpse (which not all Yuki-onna are said to do, but there’s at least one story that does). Granted, she doesn’t do it all the time, but it has made her a rich woman throughout the years since she fled her village in the 1890s, bouncing from one location to another while eating a rich suitor here and there and ditching their skeletons in the most frigid snows she could find. Cue up to 2023, she is living in Manhattan, posing as a socialite since what better to be when you don’t really have to work, and enjoying all that western life has to offer except the summer months when she’d rather be a hermit somewhere frozen (akin to zimaduveshka hibernating in the summer, but without all the sleeping). There’s a more in-depth biography here with abilities and weaknesses included! That said, she’s open to all sorts of lines! I haven’t dropped them into the bio yet (read as: I’m lazy, but not forgetting), but she’s close friends with shvybzik and former roommates with sofa in a Princess Bubblegum and Marceline fashion (cold-blooded creatures and snow hags don’t make the best of thermostat agreements), and I’m so ready to figure out how to connect her with others! Friends, foes, historical connections even though she is on the younger side of expansive ages, former flings and romances that ended either good or bad, other social elite to wine, dine and have a good time with, etc. And if we can’t figure something out preemptively, we can definitely throw characters at the organic wall and see what sticks! 13 POST

[09 Feb 2023|10:56pm] tepastaupos Hey all, I stumbled across this game in some ad comms and was immediately interested! I saw there was a need for more Demons, so I present to you Dante Vega, the human embodiment of the demon Bael. I'm still poking around and figuring things out for the game, but in the meantime I figured I'd throw him out there and see if there was any interest or need. In summary, Bael has been around a really long time, and was one of the highest-ranking generals of Hell with over 66 legions of demons under his command. However, he was summoned and subsequently imprisoned by a mad witch for a few decades, which left him with a poor taste in his mouth for the breed in general. Dante is, in short, a butt. He's about as nice as you might expect a recently-liberated former Duke of Hell to be... which is decidedly Not Nice. He's got enhanced strength and the power of invisibility and persuasion, and due to his limited time in this realm being spent imprisoned and tortured, he's not always super-great at the 'being human' thing. I haven't made any concrete decisions about his current situation at this point, but I'm thinking he's been in the city for only a few weeks. If there are any line openings (or desires for any) with a cantankerous demon lord, I'd love to hear from you! I'm very open to ooc chatter and brainstorming, love exchanging vision boards, and live for collaborative storytelling. I'm also available on discord for easier communication, if desired!
